Actually, the skin pigment is the same colour in all of us. A totally fair camera will see the same ratio of red to green to blue in anyone. Your eyes are not remotely fair toward colour balance so to you people look pink or brown or whatever.

Note that cycling through the lighting options will significantly change the skin colour of your character.
This is like that scene in one of the Matrix films where everyone is dancing by underground firelight and you can't tell who is what race because they're all pretty much orange. Likewise, the harsh white lights of space would make Samuel L Jackson seem pale.

The Caldari were part of the gallente federation, not the gallente race. But yeah, the Gallente most of all can excuse being all white.
